Dr. Therese Chevalier, Ph.D.

Dr. Therese Chevalier has been a registered psychologist with the College of Alberta
Psychologists since 2016. She currently works in full-time private practice in Edmonton
and specializes in neuropsychological and psychological assessments of adults with
complex medical, neurological, psychiatric, and neurodevelopmental, conditions.
Dr. Chevalier completed her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at Dalhousie University in
Halifax, NS, and her CPA accredited internship in Clinical Neuropsychology at The
Ottawa Hospital in Ottawa, ON. She has specialized clinical training and expertise in
comprehensive neuropsychological assessment, psychological assessment, civil
capacity assessment, and cognitive rehabilitation therapy.


At the current time, Dr. Chevalier’s scope of practice includes diagnostic assessment
and consultation for conditions such as acquired brain injury, degenerative brain
conditions (i.e. dementias), stroke, intellectual disability, learning disability, ADHD,
autism, neurological and medical conditions, psychiatric disorders, and general mental
health conditions.


Dr. Chevalier works with individuals to help them understand how their unique pattern of
cognitive strengths and weakness can influence their thinking, and the effect that this
can have on day-to-day activities. Feedback sessions are used to provide education
about the meaning of a diagnosis and to focus on individualized strategies to capitalize
on strengths and promote optimal outcomes for everyday life.


Affiliations include a position as an Assistant Clinical Professor through the Department
of Psychiatry in the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry at University of Alberta, and a
clinical lecturer position at Concordia University of Alberta.


Dr. Chevalier has been qualified as an expert in neuropsychology, and has provided
expert testimony in the Court of King’s Bench.
